The BEE PAYNE-STEWART STRUT is a community wide family fun and fitness event. The Strut raises money for the women's athletic programs at Drury, Evangel, and Missouri State. It also provides funds for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Youth Programs and WIN for Springfield. Money raised through the Strut allows these programs to continue to grow and excel.
This is a unique opportunity to assist and support five different programs that increase awareness and funding for girl's and women's sports in the Greater Springfield Area. The funds raised provide a strong foundation for girls and women's athletics in the Greater Springfield Area.
Honorary Co-Chairs for the 5th Annual BEE PAYNE-STEWART STRUT are Susan Daniels and Lora Thomas, daughters of Bee Payne-Stewart. The theme of this year's Strut is "Hats Off to the Strut". Participants are encouraged to wear hats, the more creative the better!
BEE PAYNE-STEWART
Bee Payne-Stewart was a passionate supporter for women in leadership and sports. She was the first woman president of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and a financial supporter for many women's athletic needs in Springfield. WIN is excited to keep Bee's passion alive through this unique community event.
HOW THE STRUT WORKS
Team captains are recruited. They recruit a team of walkers. Each member of the team contacts people they know to obtain donations to support their walking. These donations apply to the individual and team's total, which qualify them for team prizes.
WHEN AND WHERE
The 6th Annual BEE PAYNE-STEWART STRUT is Saturday, April 28 and for the first time will include a 5K. Check in at Mediacom Ice Park parking lot begins at 9:00 am. Welcome and announcements begin at 9:30 am and the STRUT and 5K begins at 10:00 am. Enjoy yourself at a leisure stroll, a determined pace walker, or as a runner. A "strutter" may walk or run the course twice.
PRIZES
Team prizes will be awarded to the following:
- Team that raises the most money
- Team that recruits the most walkers
- Team with the most spirit\fun (ie. costumes, supports the theme)
SILENT AUCTION
There will be a silent auction area to bid on items prior to the start of the actual walk. All winners will be announced following the walk.
WHY JOIN IN ON THE FUN
Your participation will help make a difference in the athletic experience of kids and young female athletes in our community. You can network with other sport minded individuals in our community and get some exercise at the same time!
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED
Attend the STRUT KICK-OFF PARTY on Wednesday March 16 at 6:00 pm at Cooper Tennis Complex to learn more details about THE STRUT. Meet female athletes from the various teams at Drury, Evangel, and Missouri State. Network with other STRUT participants. Become a team captain and\or join a team. Light snacks and drinks will be served starting at 5:30 pm. A short program will begin at 6:00 pm. There will be drawings for prizes.

NOTE: Mail in registrations must be mailed by April 20. On line registration must be done by April 25.
