WIN MEETING MINUTES
November 20, 2004

We had a good meeting at Drury and the following items were discussed.

Recap on past events:

WSGT: WIN was instrumental in running the Pro Women’s Senior Golf Tournament event, and we were successful in helping raise $16,200 for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. The BCFO gave WIN a $1,000 to help us with our functions during the year. We are meeting now to plan the event for next year, so start gathering your auction items early so we can have a bigger and better tournament again next year.

“On Your Left” Bike rides--- Melita Van Winkle reported that we have held two bike rides and will have probably the last one for ’04 on Saturday, November 27th on Galloway Trail, beginning at Pershing Elementary School at 9:30 a.m., weather permitting. Everyone has been having a great time. Come and join us.

Drury Golf Team Scholarship for weight training. Lisa Tinkler sent a Thank You for the scholarship that WIN provided to the Drury Golf Team to workout at Doling weight training facility. The team was very appreciative of the opportunity to use the Park’s new facility.

A Night @ the Races with Rivendale—several WIN members volunteered to assist with this program to benefit the Rivendale school.

Laura Scott wrote an article for 417 Magazine about five women in Springfield that are extreme athletes. It was a wonderful article, and we are very proud of Laura’s expertise in bringing attention to these women athletes. She announced that she has been asked to do more articles for 417 Magazine.

Reba Sims announced that she had written a letter to Mr. Hammons informing him that WIN was in support of a Springfield Arena that would seat at least 12,000 fans and, we would do what we could to help him with this effort. She did not get a response but at least the information was sent.


Upcoming events:

Reba announced efforts for WIN members to make a trip to a Michigan WBB game on 2/6/05. If you are interested in going, let Reba know and she will get motel reservations and game tickets. You need to make your own flight reservations. The current cost on Northwest Airlines non-stop flight is as follows:
