MEETING MINUTES
February 5, 2007, 5:30 p.m.

1. The WIN Meeting was held at the Park Board, 1923 N. Weller.

2. The Awards Reception will be held April 24 or May 8 at the Clarion Hotel. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the presentation of awards will take place at 5:30 p.m. Becky Oakes will be the guest speaker. Nominations are needed for the following Awards: Mentor, Courage, Challenged Athlete, Senior Sportswoman, and the Bee Payne Stewart Spirit Award, which will be from WIN Member nominations only. Nominations need to be turned in by April 4. There will be a meeting of the Awards committee on Feb 15, at 5:30 pm at the Park Board.

3. Saturday, February 10, WIN members will be at Drury, Evangel, and MSU basketball games promoting the “Bee Payne Stewart Strut”. Betty Ward, Linda Dollar, and Cindy Deskin will be working the tables. We will also have some athletes helping. The Bee Payne Stewart Strut banners will be ready for that day. Would like to have something blown up for the other tables – Reba will check on this. Need to get video in for Media Blitz. All partners will have their part to Casey for the video. The event will be held April 28, 2007. The walk will be a little over a mile and last approximately 30 minutes. There will be honey jars for donations at each basketball game on February 10.

There will be giveaways for each level of donations collected:

• $25 ---Event T-shirt
• $100 – Messenger Bag
• $200 – Walking Kit
• $300 – Drawing for Carnival Cruise
• $500 – Team (10 to a team) T-shirts
• The Team that raises the most money will get Box seats at Springfield Cardinal Game

• We are obtaining sponsors for the “Strut”.

  Bee’s daughters donated $15,000.

• Roseann Bentley and Sara Lampe will be honorary co-chairs.

• February 28 there will be a media announcement at 11:30 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce with a team captains’ meeting after the announcement and another meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Jordan Valley Ice Park. Material will be handed out to the captains at the meeting. Susan Daniels will be at the captains’ meetings. The money collected will need to be turned in by April 20 to be eligible for the special drawings. Bee’s Orange Mercedes will be used for people that can’t do the walk.

• We will not be doing the WSGT this year.

• If we have “Strut” on annual basis, we might bring BCFO into this event. They wouldn’t have to do anything; we could just donate some of the monies to them.

• The Women’s Golf Week is scheduled for June 2-9.

• CODP added Ice Hockey last fall. Tennis is moving along. Volleyball trying to get Boy’s Clinic for February and March. Check with Parkview High School to see if CODP can use their facility for Volleyball Clinic. Weightlifting doing well. Weightlifting is hosting school age wresting match on June 29-30, and July 1, 2007 at the Clarion. There is no admission charge. Brandon Ezzell is doing everything but WIN might provide help with registration.
