The Missouri Valley Conference announced that former Missouri State
University coach and administrator Dr. Mary Jo Wynn has been
selected as the 2009 recipient of the John Sanders 'Spirit of The
Valley' Award.
The Missouri Valley Conference presents the
'Spirit of The Valley' Award to honor a student-athlete, coach or
university administrator who exemplifies the spirit of the late
John Sanders, former MVC assistant commissioner for operations.
Criteria includes, but is not limited to, passion for the
Conference, strong work ethic and sense of humor.
The presentation of the award will take place
during the Presidents Hall of Fame Brunch at Scottrade Center in
downtown St. Louis on Friday, March 5, 2010, with a program that
follows an 8 a.m. breakfast.

BURNETT INDUCTED INTO
MVC HALL OF FAME

Cheryl Burnett, the all-time winningest basketball
coach in Missouri State women's basketball history, has been
selected for induction into the Missouri Valley Conference Hall of
Fame, the league office announced. Burnett, who coached the Lady
Bears from 1987 to 2002, will become the first MSU head coach to be
enshrined into the Valley's Hall of Fame when the conference honors
three inductees next March in St. Louis.
