Reba Sims to be Inducted to Springfield Hall of Fame and Honored on MSU Wall of Fame
Reba SimsReba will be inducted to the Springfield Hall of Fame Tuesday, September 28 at the University Plaza and honored on the Missouri State Wall of Fame on Friday, October 22  at 2:00 pm at the Plaster Student Union.

Reba has been often recognized for her accomplishments during her 33 years at Missouri State in the role of coach and assistant professor of health, physical education and recreation. Accolades have been given to her by the Missouri Association of Health, Physical Recreation and Dance, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame, and she has received numerous service awards for her work as an official in high school athletics. But one of her greatest accomplishments is making wellness activities more accessible to women and students with disabilities. Reba advocated for equality for all students and personally prepared physical educators to accommodate and include all children in physical education courses. With a heart to serve this population, Reba worked one-on-one with students to establish plans that would work with their abilities - teaching a student with cerebral palsy to ride a bike, a brain damaged student to work through rehabilitation exercises, and so much more. Sarah McAllister said of Reba, "Anyone who has been fortunate enough to work with Reba knows that going the extra mile is the norm in her life."

Reba served as President of WIN from 2003-2008 and was instrumental in implementing the Bee-Payne Stewart Strut and the WIN Awards Celebration during her Presidency.

Also being inducted to the Springfield Hall of Fame is Ellen Gale-Hopkins Green who WIN honored with a Legends Award last year.

Ellen Gale is fourth from the left.
