[The
tournament was held August 2, 2004 at the Millwood Golf and
Racquest Club.] It was just a great experience for all, including
the Pros, the local players and all who worked to make it happen.
All of you that helped with this event, you were awesome. The
Pros were just blown away with the organization of the tournament
and how well everything ran. They also felt they were treated
like royalty and were very appreciative of everything we did
for them. They could not have been more impressed.
The auction went very well and thanks to all that provided items
for the auction. We had some outstanding items. We do not have
the last numbers but Leslie announced at the Awards Party after
the tournament that with the auction and other monies that we
helped raise over $16,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation of
the Ozarks. Yes that is not a typo. Over $16,000, a $10,000
increase over last year. You are to be commended for your hard
work and interest in helping the clients of the Breast Cancer
Foundation.
Leslie Peck and her committee did a wonderful job planning and
executing that plan to accomplish this successful event. Thanks
Leslie, you were such a strong leader and your committee was
such a hard working inspiration for all of us.
Thanks again WIN members!!!! You have provided another wonderful
event for Springfield to see the quality of women in sports.
We look forward to many more in the future. We have some exciting
things in the horizon. Keep going, you are doing a great service
to our community.
